Jeremy Vine presenter Storm Huntley and her husband, LaFontaines singer Kerr Okan, have welcomed their first child, a beautiful baby boy called Otis Abi Okan. The couple, who tied the knot last year in an intimate ceremony in Loch Lomond, announced the news that their son had arrived and they were bursting with pride.
Otis was born this morning at 9:17am, weighing in at 7.7 pounds. Sharing the adorable snap, Storm wrote: "So this is the little person who will forever hold my heart in his hands."
The 35-year-old has been documenting her pregnancy on social media and towards the end she had a really tough time after contracting gestational diabetes. In June, the month she was due to give birth, she caught Covid.
Storm was struck down with the virus at the same time as host Jeremy Vine and several other members of the crew who work on the Channel 5 show.
Just weeks before going into labour, Storm told her Twitter followers that she had caught the virus. Sharing a picture of two positive lateral flow tests, Storm wrote: "Just as I was about to hand myself in to medical science… it caught up with me."
Prior to that she also asked her followers for advice after being diagnosed with gestational diabetes.
She wrote: "Diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes about three weeks ago and it’s all a bit big and scary. I know lots of you have to deal with this daily, so any advice?"
Gestational diabetes is high blood sugar (glucose) that develops during pregnancy and usually disappears after giving birth.
It is more common in the second or third trimester but can happen at any stage of pregnancy. Gestational diabetes occurs when the body cannot produce enough insulin – a hormone that helps control blood sugar levels – to meet the extra needs in pregnancy.
It can cause issues for mum and baby during pregnancy and after birth but the risks can be reduced if the condition is detected early and well managed. Last year, the couple recorded the sweet moment they found out they were having a boy after Kerr kicked a football revealing blue smoke.
She said she already knew but when he kicked the ball, Kerr found out the gender there and then. Speaking about it on the Channel 5 show, she said: "That video was actually done quite a few weeks ago because I found out what it was during a different sort of test, and Kerr didn't know, he had no idea when he was about to kick that ball. So it was a nice surprise for him."
They also announced their pregnancy in a quirky way by posing with a literal 'bun in the oven'.

Storm posted a picture of herself and Kerr peering into an oven, where a bun could be seen being cooked. They also posted the line: "Something’s Cooking" with a red love heart emoji.
