Storm Franklin hits Liverpool with Merseyrail trains cancelled and flood warnings

The Met Office has warned that winds of up to 60mph could cause damage to buildings, bring down trees and disrupt travel across Merseyside as Storm Franklin hits the city.

The fresh warning comes days after Storm Eunice caused chaos in the region.

Winds of around 50mph are expected later today.
