Gardai have confirmed that part of one of Ireland's busiest motorways will close on Friday morning due to fear of high winds from Storm Eunice.
The M8 from Dublin to Cork will see Junction 14 southbound and Junction 15 northbound close between 3am and 9am on Friday morning.
Both junctions are at Fermoy, which is facing a red weather warning from Met Eireann, as are three other counties.
Gardai say the closure will be "due to forecasted high winds" from Storm Eunice.
A Garda spokesperson said: "Diversions will be in place during this closure. Times of open and closure are subject to change."
A Status Red wind warning is in place for Cork, Kerry, Clare and Waterford, while a Status Orange wind warning covers Galway, Wexford, Tipperary, Kilkenny, Carlow, Wicklow, Laois, Offaly and Dublin.
Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Mayo and Roscommon should expect "blizzard-like conditions" as a Status Orange snow warning has been issued.
A Status Yellow wind, rain and snow warning covers the whole of Ireland until 3pm Friday, while schools in multiple counties have been told to close.
