Storm Eunice latest LIVE: London woman killed by falling tree as severe winds sweep capital

A woman in Haringey has died after a tree fell on a car as Storm Eunice brought serious disruption to the capital.

The woman in her 30s was killed when a tree struck the vehicle in Muswell Hill Road near the junction with South Close, N6.

London Fire Brigade has declared a “major incident” due to the volume of 999 calls over the storm.

Heathrow and London City Airport were worst hit as more than 430 flights were axed, while Network Rail cancelled all trains in and out of Euston Station until further notice.

Two people have been injured in separate incidents across the city, one by falling debris and another by a tree, according to the London Ambulance Service.

The Mayor of London urged people to “stay at home” and “do not take risks” as 70mph gusts hit the capital. Sadiq Khan also told Londoners to not travel “unless absolutely essential”.
