Storm Eunice causing disruption for Everton fans travelling to Southampton by train

Everton fans travelling to Southampton via train for this afternoon's match at St Mary's face disruption and cancellations and have been advised 'not to travel' in a joint statement by South Western Railway and Network Rail Wessex.

The Blues face Ralph Hasenhuttl's side at 3:00pm GMT and the squad's travel plans were also affected by Storm Eunice on Friday.

Services across the network, including the route from London to Southampton Central, have been impacted by the storm and disruption is expected until the end of the day.

"Winds of over 90 miles per hour have caused over 40 fallen trees to block routes across our network, and our patrol teams are continuing to find and remove trees on key lines this morning," a statement reads on the South Western Railway website.

"While we are working hard to run as many services as we safely can, we strongly advise you not to travel on our network until further notice.

"Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that we’re able to get you to where you need to be, as replacement services will not be available on certain routes.

"We're sorry for the disruption that this is causing, and thank you for your patience as we deal with the severe impact of Storm Eunice and work to restore services as soon as possible."

From East: M27, from Portsmouth, passing Fareham.
From West: M27, M271, A33, passing Copythorne and Nursling.
