Very strong and disruptive winds are set to batter the North East over the next 24 hours.
Leading meteorologists the Met Office have issued a series of weather warnings and have predicted that strong gusts are set to hit the UK as storms are expected to bring a "period of very strong and disruptive winds."
An amber weather warning is now in place from 2pm on Wednesday, February 16 until midnight and a yellow weather warning for wind has been issued from around 1pm on Wednesday and through to Thursday at 6am as Storm Dudley is expected to cause chaos throughout the region.

The Met Office has warned that people should expect travel disruptions with road, rail, air and ferry services may be affected.
They've also warned there is a "good chance" power cuts could happen with the transport network may be affected and says to expect fallen trees and roof damage.
This comes as yet another storm is forecast to hit the region in the coming days in the form of Storm Eunice which is likely to cause more disruption with heavy snow and winds on Friday, the Met Office have said.
They are expecting: "Snow, heavy in places, is likely to develop on the northern side of Storm Eunice as it moves across the UK on Friday.
"There is still uncertainty in the track of Storm Eunice and not all areas within the warning area are expected to see snow.
"However, some places may see around 5 cm of snow at low levels away from coasts.
"Accumulations are expected to be significantly higher over hills though with 10-20 cm perhaps up to 30 cm possible above around 250 metres. Strong winds occurring at the same time may lead to very poor visibility, blizzard conditions and drifting of lying snow."
Ahead of this, the meteorologists expect conditions to be as follows today: "Breezy with some brief sunny spells at first. Cloud becoming extensive with rain from late morning.
"Heavy bursts are likely at times through the afternoon. Winds easing for a short time early afternoon, then very strong due to Storm Dudley. Maximum temperature 11 °C."
Through the evening, the strong winds are expected to continue, the forecasters claim:
"Very strong winds continuing throughout the night. Scattered cloud with blustery showers, occasionally wintry in the early hours of the morning. Minimum temperature 2 °C."
