Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s latest fundraising effort centered around DOGE has unexpectedly intersected with an escalating conflict between former President Donald Trump and Elon Musk. The timing of the fundraising message has drawn attention from Republican circles, particularly among MAGA supporters who interpreted it as DeSantis taking sides in the dispute.
According to Politico, the fundraising pitch, sent through text and email by DeSantis’s political committee, called for supporters to “help elect real conservatives who will finish the job” of the Department of Government Efficiency efforts. The message was distributed just as Trump and Musk engaged in a heated exchange over the One Big Beautiful Bill Act on social media.
