A dog has been returned to its owners almost five months after it was allegedly stolen from their home on the north coast of Scotland.
The Collie was allegedly nicked from a home in Wick, Caithness, in March, and was recovered by officers after a routine traffic stop in Milnathort, near Kinross, on Monday, August 8 - around 230 miles away.
A 66-year-old man has now been charged in connection with the alleged theft, along with alleged road offences. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
The female dog was reported stolen from an address in Wick on March 19. Police traced her on the Stirling Road in Milnathort around 5.15 pm.
