Stolen 1949 Picasso Etching Found Covered in Dust Behind Bedroom Door in Milwaukee Apartment

A signed Pablo Picasso etching that vanished from a Milwaukee gallery eight years ago has resurfaced under a thick layer of dust, hanging behind a bedroom door in a flat left empty by an evicted tenant.

The 1949 print, titled Torero, was handed in to Milwaukee police on 5 August 2026 by a landlord who found it while clearing out the apartment and suspected it had been stolen.
