Stirring mural of Christy Dignam goes up in Dublin ahead of star's funeral

A stirring mural in honour of Christy Dignam has appeared overnight following the singer’s death this week.

The artwork, which shows the singer in his familiar performance pose, has been painted on a wall at the corner of Dame Street and George’s Street in Dublin. It comes as fans of the Aslan frontman are preparing to line the streets as he makes his final journey tomorrow.

The funeral will be strictly private, as Christy , who was 63, wished. His daughter Kiera has organised for his cortege to take a circular route through his native Finglas in the north of the city.
