Students at Stirling University have voted in favour of making their union fully plant-based by 2025 - a first for universities in the UK.
The decision was made following a motion to the Stirling Students Union meeting on November 10, with a ‘majority’ of the roughly 100 attendees at the meeting giving the plans the thumbs up.
It will mean that the union on the campus will commit to moving towards a plant-based food system, delivering a 50 per cent plant-based offering by the beginning of the 2023/24 academic year and to fully achieve the aim no later than 2025.
