Campaigners involved in the drive to introduce a vegan diet to the Stirling students union say they have received abuse in public following the decision.
The move for the union to become the first in the UK with a plant-only diet from 2025 was agreed following a students’ union meeting earlier this month.
But the initiative came in for criticism from rural campaign groups, including the Countryside Alliance, who branded the step as “illogical” and said the union should instead adopt ‘locally sourced’ meat and dairy products instead.
