THE upcoming Open Streets Festival in Stirling has been cancelled following the death of the Queen.
A statement by Stirling Council said the event, part of the worldwide Open Streets movement, will be postponed as a mark of respect.
The free festival, originally planned for this weekend, would have seen a traffic-free Stirling city centre filled with street performances and a silent disco.

Stirling Council said: “As a mark of respect following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, Stirling Council and Go Forth Stirling are postponing the Open Streets festival that was due to take place this weekend (10-11 September), in line with many other planned events across the nation.
“We understand this will come as a disappointment to everyone who was planning to attend, and all those involved in organising and taking part in the festival, as well as our businesses.
“There has been huge enthusiasm for the festival and we will work with partners to reschedule the event at a later date.”
A number of planned events have been cancelled after the Queen died aged 96 on Thursday afternoon at her home in Balmoral.
The RMT called off its strikes while the Scottish Parliament suspended all business.
