Stevie McKenna showed his class in an empathic victory against Brendon Denes at the Wembley Arena on Saturday night.
The Monaghan man continued his purge on the welterweight division as the referee Bob Williams awarded him the victory at the beginning of the fifth round.
The 25-year-old, who is now 13-0, has an impeccable record with 12 of his 13 fights ending by way of knockout.
Overall, it was a one sided bout, as McKenna set the tempo from the opening bell. Denes hit the canvas in the third and fourth round following sustained damage his head and body.
The Zimbabwean, to his credit, made it to the bell. However, Williams remained on his stool as the bell rang for the fifth, forcing Williams to suspend the bout.
Following the fight, an ecstatic McKenna took to the mic, as he set his sights towards the top of the welterweight division.
He told Sky Sports: "You have to entertain in this game. I wanted to go in there and get the knockout, which I did. He was highly ranked and it was a good step-up fight for me at this stage of my career.
"Nobody wants to fight me. I have called out numerous fighters and they don't want to know but hopefully we can make those fight happen."
