Steven Gerrard starts for Liverpool Legends as they host Celtic at Anfield.
The Reds legend is set to captain the side and partners debutant Charlie Adam and Salif Diao in midfield as Sir Kenny Dalglish names a five-man defence. At least, that’s what it looks likely to be on paper if the legends play in the positions we became accustomed to seeing them in during their playing days!
Fellow debutant Ragnar Klavan, who is yet to officially announce his retirement, starts in defence alongside Sami Hyypia and Martin Skrtel, with Bjorn Tore Kvarme and Gregory Vignal at wing-backs. Treble-winner Sander Westerveld starts in goal.

Meanwhile, Dirk Kuyt looks set to lead the attack with Steve McManaman offering support. Alternatively, the former Real Madrid man could line up deeper with Gerrard actually playing in a more offensive role.
Set to play a half for both clubs, Robbie Keane is on the bench for Liverpool and will represent the Scottish giants in the first half. The Irishman is joined by Jerzy Dudek, Albert Riera, Mark Gonzalez, Momo Sissoko, Luis Garcia, Gary McAllister, Fabio Aurelio, and Djibril Cisse.
Liverpool Legends starting XI: Westerveld; Kvarme, Skrtel, Hyypia, Klavan, Vignal; Gerrard, Diao, Adam; McManaman, Kuyt.
Substitutes: Dudek, Riera, Gonzalez, Sissoko, Garcia, McAllister, Aurelio, Cisse, Keane.
