Pat Nevin reckons bringing Steven Gerrard back to Rangers would not be a bad idea.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst is under increased pressure after dropped points against St Mirren at the weekend with the under-fire boss now nine points behind Celtic in the race for the Premiership title. Ange Postecoglou's men have won 14 and lost one of their 15 outings this season and continued their relentless form with a comeback win at the weekend.
The Light Blues have dropped points of late at home to Livingston and also lost at McDiarmid Park with the supporters venting their frustrations towards James Tavernier and the Rangers players following the 2-1 loss.

It's reported that Van Brockhorst has returned to the Netherlands as he waits word over his future at the club. His one-year anniversary arrives on Friday and after a stunning start to life that resulted in a Scottish Cup success and Europa League Final appearance, things have went the other way, despite qualifying for the Champions League group stages
Steven Gerrard - who the Dutchman replaced - is out of work after being sacked by Aston Villa and while the former Chelsea man would be 'surprised' if he was the go-to option should Van Bronckhorst lose his job, he reckons it wouldn't be the worst decision.
Speaking to Grosvenor Sport, he said: "I'd be surprised if Steven Gerrard was the go-to option and I know he's not been forgiven by a vast number of Rangers fans. His legacy has been rewritten slightly, but in reality, I think he's a good manager.
"Gerrard isn't the go-to or the obvious replacement but I don't think it'd be a daft decision for Rangers to make. If things don't work with Giovanni van Bronckhorst, re-hiring Steven Gerrard wouldn't be a bad thing to do at all."
He added: "Rangers' title chances are fading massively into the distance. Rangers and Celtic play each other in early January at Ibrox and I think by that point in time you're thinking that if Rangers don't win then they can say goodbye to the title.
"Their claws are still in there but they're hanging on by the tips of those claws."
