NEW DELHI: As India hammered Australia in the first Test inside three days in Nagpur, the visitors got a harsh reality check of their spin playing abilities on a spicy track. The Australian batters were beaten left, right and centre through the Test and looked absolutely clueless against the high quality Indian spin bowling attack.
Premier batter Steve Smith too found it difficult on the rank turner as the ball, on numerous occasions went past his bat, narrowly missing the edges on both sides.
The 33-year-old however did not shy away from appreciating the bowler, in his unique manner, whenever the ball went past his bat.
In his unique 'thumbs up' gesture, Smith, on multiple occasions was seen acknowledging the unplayable deliveries from the India spinners.
Smith's gesture became an instant hit on social media and triggered a meme fest.
India won the first Test by a huge margin of an innings and 132 runs to go 1-0 up in the four-Test series.
