Newcastle United would be in a good position if they decide to push on for Julian Draxler after reports in France suggest the Magpies have made an enquiry for the left-winger.
Draxler shares the same agency, the ROGON group, as Newcastle star Joelinton with head of recruitment Steve Nickson having excellent contacts with German-based company. Nickson held brief talks on another ROGON client Attila Szalai in the January window before Newcastle signed Dan Burn instead.
A price of between €20-€30million is being mooted in France for Paris St-Germain's Draxler who is said to be out of favour with the Ligue 1 giants. His opportunities with PSG were restricted last season when he made just 18 appearances and scored two goals.
The player was not picked for PSG's tour of Japan this summer and has been placed on the transfer list. Eddie Howe is eager to sign a wide man after seeing Moussa Diaby of Bayer Leverkusen and Jack Harrison of Leeds United overly priced this summer.
Howe, speaking on Newcastle's mini European tour this summer, said: "We are now going into an area where we are still looking. We want to improve the squad. We are really pleased with what we have done but we know we have got more to do. But it has got to be the right one, in the right position. So it is not simple."
