Cardiff City boss Steve Morison did not rule out the possibility of Ryan Giles returning in this window, however anything concrete on that front will likely happen next week.
Giles was called back by his parent club Wolves at the beginning of the window, with the Molineux outfit looking to prop up their squad numbers amid a surge in the Omicron Covid variant.
It has been mooted in some parts that Giles could return to Cardiff, but nothing is set in stone.
The Bluebirds have done well to bring in Cody Drameh and Tommy Doyle on loan from Leeds United and Manchester City respectively and are hopeful of doing more business in the next week or so.
But while Morison did not rule out Giles coming back to the club, he remained pretty tight-lipped on the prospect.
"If he’s not gone on loan he is a possibility to everyone in the league," Morison said of Giles.
"He’s not here, so we’ve done Cody and Tommy. We’ve got other things we are asking about and hopeful of.
"With anything like Ryan Giles and players who are in and around the first team at their current teams, I don't think that will happen until next week, because the Premier League go into a winter break and they'll be able to really assess their situations.
"If there is any movement on those situations I think they will happen next week some time."
Cardiff have brought in a right back and a central midfield player, both bits of business have been well received by fans thus far.
However, Morison has not been shy in bemoaning his side's lack of bite in front of goal in recent weeks and even warned his forwards that he would go out and get replacements if they didn't start firing.

When asked if the transfer focus now shifts on adding in those areas further up the pitch, Morison said there has always been a plan in place and no shift is required.
However, he did say they were looking to recruit in the same manner which saw Drameh and Doyle arrive at the club and target some more Premier League loans.
"It's not going to shift [to the forward areas]. We've always had certain players in mind for certain areas," he added.
"It's more of a case of, the players we are talking into and looking into, nothing is going to happen until next week.
"For you guys, for us, it'll be Monday morning, hopefully the phone goes off and there is some movement.
"It'll just be waiting to see, the Premier League, as you've seen so far that's where we are looking for players to come in from.
"After they've finished their round of games this week they go into a winter break, then the window shuts. If they let players go it'll be around that week.
"Hopefully, for us, it'll be a really positive week and we add one, two maybe, bodies."
