The Golden State Warriors are expected to give Jonathan Kuminga additional opportunities in the coming season. The 20-year-old forward has steadily improved since joining the franchise as the seventh pick in the 2021 draft and is ready for a bigger role within the rotation.
During a recent press conference, head coach Steve Kerr shared his excitement at what the upcoming season holds for Kuminga. Kerr also noted how he believes playing alongside Chris Paul will positively affect the young forward’s development – echoing a similar concept that Draymond Green shared earlier this summer.

And the coaches were all raving about him, saying that he’s really worked hard and understood what’s needed from him. I think it will be very helpful for him to play with Chris Paul. Chris has a way of making the game easier for people.
I anticipate them spending some time on the court together and Chris helping to unlock some of that potential. Otherwise, JK is in his third year and getting better, working hard, and is right on track to get where he needs to go. I’m excited.”
Kuminga has already been working out with Paul during the offseason and is expected to hit the ground running once the new season begins. While he may not be in the starting rotation, Kuminga’s skillset could become invaluable to the Warriors as they look for explosiveness, length, and athleticism from their bench unit.

If he can remain healthy, produce at a high level, and feed off Paul’s energy, Kuminga could enjoy a breakout season with Golden State, which could improve his career trajectory.
