Head coach Steve Cooper remains under significant pressure but a change of manager at Nottingham Forest is not believed to be imminent.
The Welshman’s job is under serious threat after a 4-0 thumping at Leicester City made it five defeats in a row and left the Reds bottom of the Premier League table. However, it is understood the coming hours are unlikely to see him dismissed.
Beyond that, the situation is uncertain. Much can change quickly and Cooper’s future is still in severe doubt.

The likes of Rafael Benitez and Sean Dyche have been linked with being potential contenders for the role, should owner Evangelos Marinakis wield the axe. It remains to be seen whether Cooper is at the helm when Aston Villa make the trip to the City Ground next Monday night.
But it seems more likely that changes will be made elsewhere at the club before Cooper is in the firing line. After a dismal run of results and question marks over some of the club’s summer signings, Marinakis is understood to be considering changes at boardroom level and within the recruitment team.
Chief executive Dane Murphy, head of data and analytic recruitment George Syrianos and head of scouting Andy Scott are all at risk of losing their jobs this week as Forest try to turn the tide. A matter of months after a memorable day at Wembley which saw a 23-year exile from the top-flight brought to an end, key figures could be dismissed as the Reds try to retain their place in the Premier League.
Cooper’s side have picked up four points from their first eight games. They have a run of seven league fixtures and one FA Cup tie before the action pauses in November for the World Cup.
