Nottingham Forest head coach Steve Cooper insists he is not thinking about his contract situation on the eve of the new Premier League season.
Cooper is understood to have agreed the framework of a new contract in June having spent time in Greece on holiday, as well as holding talks with Reds owner Evangelos Marinakis.
However, he is yet to put pen to paper and is now in the final 12 months of the two-year deal he signed when he was appointed as Forest manager last September. The former Swansea boss insists there is no cause for concern ahead of making his debut as a Premier League manager on Saturday when the Reds face Newcastle United.

"I don’t really think about it to be honest, not something that enters my mind, I’m more interested in the team and trying to deliver the right training sessions and I’m just not interested in personal stuff," he said when asked about his contract situation.
"Am I happy? Yeah, double happy. Every day it’s an honour an privilege to be here. It’s not something I spend too much time thinking about."
Cooper has been massively backed in the transfer market this summer with more than £80m spent on 12 players. The Reds boss expects more to come in and leave before the window ends. Morgan Gibbs-White remains their primary target with conflicting reports emerging this evening over how close Forest are to landing the Wolves forward who excelled on loan at Sheffield United last season

Forest are also keen to strengthen in midfield with Atalanta's Swiss international Remo Freuler the latest player to be linked after producing consistent performances in Serie A and the Champions League. In terms of outgoings, Joe Lolley is set to move to Australia with Sydney FC his reported destination on a two-year deal. More fringe players will also depart in due course.
"A number I don’t know. It’s not a straightforward process in bringing a player in, I don’t know in terms of numbers," Cooper said when asked about transfers in and out today.
"I think there will be more ins and outs. My focus is on the players that are already here. I Imagine we’re getting linked with all sorts of names, maybe some truth in them and some there will be no truth at all. My focus is on the guys who are coming into training every day and preparing for the next game because they deserve 100 per cent attention."
