Steve Clarke made six changes for Scotland ’s 2-0 win over Armenia in midweek, but is planning to keep it consistent against Ireland.
The Scots are in Dublin this weekend for their second Nations League clash against their Celtic neighbours.
After going down to Ukraine in the World Cup play-off semi-final, Clarke mixed up it for the return to Hampden, drafting in debut goal scorer and man of the match Anthony Ralston, John Souttar, Jack Hendry, Scott McKenna, Stuart Armstrng and Ryan Christie.
It worked perfectly as the hosts put in a dominant display to get their Nations League campaign up and running.
In contrast, Stephen Kenny’s side are pointless after successive defeats in their opening two games.
And Clarke admits he won’t change as much for the game in the Aviva Stadium, while confirming Liam Cooper and Zander Clark have been excused in order to get married.
“You have to react to different games and different situations,” said the Scotland boss. “Different results can change your mind. I was pleased with the team the other night. I thought they did well.
“There will be more rotations, but maybe not as many as six.
‘We’ve lost a couple. Zander Clark and Liam Cooper have both left the squad to go away and get married and I wish them well.
“I’ve called up Robby McCrorie who’s come in as another ‘keeper for us, which is good for him.”
As one ‘keeper joins up, another departs after David Marshall announced his retirement from international football.
The hero of Belgrade will concentrate fully on his club career after joining Hibs and Clarke admitted he wasn’t expecting the decision from the 27-year-old.
“It was a little bit of a surprise,” he said. “Certainly the timing of it.
“Listen I had a good chat with David but his mind was made up. We shook hands, I thinakedhim for everything he’s done for the national team and wished him well for the rest of his club career.”
