Sterling, Mount, Havertz - Chelsea predicted XI vs Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest will be back in Premier League action when they host Chelsea at the City Ground on New Year's Day (4:30pm).

Graham Potter's side will be keen to seal back-to-back wins after a 2-0 home defeat of Bournemouth last time out. Meanwhile, Forest will be looking to get back on track and climb out of the relegation zone following their 3-0 defeat against Manchester United.

Heading into the clash, Potter will be without several players with the likes of Reece James, N'Golo Kante, Wesley Fofana, Armando Broja, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ben Chilwell and Edouard Mendy all nursing injuries.

At Stamford Bridge, Potter chose to play his side in the 4-3-3 formation, allowing more freedom among his players. While Kepa Arrizabalaga is expected to remain in goal, there may be some changes in defence.

Cesar Azpilicueta is expected to come in for James, who is out with a knee injury, while Thiago Silva could be rested after picking up a knock against the Cherries. A return for Trevoh Chalobah could be on the cards, while Marc Cucurella is set to continue at left-back.

Potter is likely to keep a midfield three of Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic and Mason Mount and also opt for an unchanged front three consisting of Kai Havertz, Raheem Sterling and Christian Pulisic.

Predicted XI: Kepa; Azpilicueta, Chalobah, Koulibaly, Cucurella; Jorginho, Kovacic, Mount; Sterling, Pulisic, Havertz
