Steps singer Claire Richards revealed on The One Show that the band are 'having a break' while she focuses on her solo career.
The band member is releasing a new solo album, heavily inspired by American singer Karen Carpenter. Appearing on The One Show, on Monday, Claire said the band would be taking a break from performing together, apart from headlining at Brighton Pride on August 6.
Steps formed in the late 90s and had a string of hits. They reformed in 2011 and have performed at gigs and concerts one and off, ever since.
Claire told One Show viewers: "It's [Brighton] our only show we are doing together this year. We are having a bit of a break because we did quite a lot in the last five or six years.
"We released four albums in five years. So we are having a break. Brighton Pride is a big one."
Claire was also joined on the One Show couch by actor and presenter Ross Kemp and Line of Duty star Vicky McClure.
