Stephen “tWitch” Boss's grandfather has shared the last message he received from his the dancer just days before his death by suicide.
Eddy Boss, 84, said that he had talked to his grandson on several occasions before the tragic death and that he hadn't noticed any signs that his grandson was experiencing any struggles with his mental health.
"Every word has meaning. His last words to me were a simple text that says, ‘I love you Dad-Dad,'. Our question is why? Where did it come from?" he asked.
"We spoke as recently as Saturday on more than one occasion. He was the same happy-go-lucky person that he’s always been. We had no indication that anything was out of the ordinary.”
Talking to the Daily Mail, Eddy reflected on his 'generous' and 'humble' grandson, with him saying that the DJ and producer 'brought light' into the lives of those around him.
He said: “We’re completely devastated right now. All I can say is he was a beautiful person that contributed so much to this world and to everyone he met in a positive way. We miss him dearly, and we’re hurting tremendously.”
Stephen had celebrated his grandfather's birthday just days before his tragic death, with him taking to Instagram last week to share two snaps of himself and his grandfather smiling.
One picture from his youth where Eddy proudly wears a red shirt with 'STEPHEN'S GRAMPS' written across it and a more recent selfie of the two of them beaming at the camera.
The post is captioned: "Shouting the BIGGESST HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY GRANDFATHER (DADA)! I love you! IG fam help me wish him happy birthday'.
The dancer went on to share an anniversary post celebrating his nine year anniversary with wife Allison Holker, sharing a montage of pictures from their wedding. The last posts came just days before Stephen's tragic death at the age of 40.
Allison shared the heart breaking news of his death on Wednesday in a devastating statement.
“It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband, Stephen, has left us,” she said. “Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him.
“He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans. I am certain there won’t be a day that goes by that we won’t honor his memory.
"We ask for privacy during this difficult time for myself and especially for our three children.”
