Stephen Curry put on a vintage display late into the Warriors' comeback win over the Bucks on Saturday night. Scoring 22 points in the fourth period and overtime, including 20 of the Warriors' last 25 points in regulation, the veteran sharpshooter practically carried his team to victory singlehandedly.
After the game, an exhausted Curry admitted he's not as young as he used to be. During his postgame interview, the Warriors' star was asked about his fatigue, to which he admitted, "I'm just getting old."
While age may be catching up to the 34-year-old, his performance down the stretch indicated anything but that.
Overall on the night, Curry led all scorers with 36 points, shooting 13-of-27 from the field, including 6-for-15 from three-point range. The second-half explosion spurred the come-from-behind victory for Golden State, which included a game-saving block toward the end of the fourth period.
While NBA fans have grown accustomed to Curry's energetic and tireless play style, constantly moving off the ball in order to get looks at the basket, the 14-year veteran isn't getting any younger. While any player would be gassed after logging 43 minutes, Curry didn't downplay the fact that his age was a contributing factor to his exhaustion.
Of course, he had enough left in the tank to carry Golden State to a critical win against the Giannis Antetokounmpo-less Bucks, but there's plenty more work to do down the stretch in a heavily contested Western Conference.
