The Boston Celtics dramatically beat down the Golden State Warriors on Sunday, recording a 52-point win to account for one of the biggest margins of victory in the NBA this season.
The Warriors already trailed by 44 points at halftime, posting an 82–38 lead in a game that was tied 21–21 at one point. During the halftime show of ESPN’s game broadcast, Stephen A. Smith expectedly unloaded on the Warriors.
He seemingly couldn’t believe his eyes.
“This is an epic butt whooping,” Smith howled. “Wow. There’s language that I can’t repeat because we’re on network television. This is so bad Kendrick Perkins needs to take off that suit. … They should postpone the game and give the Warriors about a week to recover. I ain’t never seen anything like this. This ain’t the end of the game. This is halftime. … We want to apologize to the American people for what we just saw in this first half.”

Fans, like Smith, were shocked with how horrifically the Warriors performed against the Celtics. However, Golden State coach Steve Kerr was unfazed after the win, saying he’s prepared to “flush it down the toilet” and move on.
