Occasionally, an analyst tosses out their opinion about a current or former player that’s so outrageous it legitimately leaves the others floored. Wednesday’s episode of ESPN’s First Take was all of that magnified when Chris “Mad Dog” Russo opted to toss out that Shaquille O’Neal was “the fifth-best center in the history of the NBA.”
Unsurprisingly, the reactions from Stephen A. Smith and Jay Williams were nothing short of spectacular, as neither could believe that Russo was serious. After Smith finally got it together and asked who the four ahead of Shaq were (followed by a question to Russo of whether he’s lost his “damn mind”), things only escalated from there.
The reactions were nothing short of spectacular as well.
