The Golden State Warriors entered their game against the LA Clippers on Thursday (Nov. 30) with one of the worst turnover records in the league. Steve Kerr‘s roster ranks 24th in the NBA for giving away the rock, averaging 15.2 turnovers per game. However, against a stern Western Conference foe, the Warriors took care of the ball, giving it away just seven times throughout the contest.
During his post-game press conference, Steph Curry gave his thoughts on the Warriors’ ability to take care of the ball and why they must commit to limiting their turnovers moving forward.
“We only had seven turnovers? Some of that stuff is self-inflicted, like the last minute against Sacramento,” Curry said. “Winning changes the vibe immediately…When you feel like it’s self-inflicted, that’s where you lose sleep in the regular season. And they’re bad habits that have the potential to build into who you are as a team and will show up at the wrong times…All that stuff matters. We talk about it all the time.”
If the Warriors can begin to lower their turnovers, they will put themselves in a much better position to begin making up some lost ground and proving themselves to be the contenders we expected heading into the new season.

It’s been a rough few weeks for Kerr’s team, but judging by their performances in their last games, it looks like Golden State is ready to turn a corner.
