Stefan de Vrij could be available for €25million (£20.6m) in the summer transfer window, with Tottenham said to be interested in the Inter Milan defender.
It's no secret that Antonio Conte is looking to improve his squad when the season reaches its conclusion, with the centre-back department one of the areas that needs addressing.
De Vrij, who is well into the final 18 months of his contract at Inter could be available for a price in the region of €25m (£20.6m) - €30m (£24.8m), according to Inter Live, via Sport Witness.
Conte managed De Vrij for around two years during their days at the San Siro and the Dutch defender flourished under the now Tottenham boss.
The 30-year-old Netherlands international, who has played 21 times in the Serie A for the reigning champions this season, is clearly a huge admirer of Conte, as he revealed in an interview back in December of last year.
"Simone Inzaghi and Conte are two important coaches because they've won," De Vrij told DAZN, via Football Italia. "I had already worked with Inzaghi at Lazio, Conte has had a great career because he's always won.
"We won the title under Conte and you can see it now. Inzaghi has been working on a solid base and is doing an important season now."
The summer transfer window is set to be a busy one for Conte, who saw two new players - Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur - arrive at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in January.
Despite bringing the Juventus duo to Spurs, Conte said last month that his squad may have been weakened, with the likes of Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and Dele Alli all leaving on deadline day in January.
Conte said: "What happened in January is not easy. Four players left in January. Four important players for Tottenham, two have arrived. So even numerically instead of reinforcing yourself you may have, on paper, weakened.
"Then precise choices were made for many reasons. But I certainly never expected that in January four players who I still considered important would change their shirts for a thousand reasons.
"This shows the difficulty. Tottenham in the last session of the summer transfer market and in January changed eight players."
Spurs will look to return to winning ways against Everton in the Premier League on Monday night after being knocked out of the FA Cup in midweek by Championship side Middlesbrough.
