If the Pittsburgh Steelers want to keep pace with the rest of the AFC North, this week’s game against the Los Angeles Rams is a must-win. The team has had a full week to prepare for this game and there are no excuses for the Steelers not to be prepared and focused. Here are our keys to victory.
Establish the run game
There’s a lot of talk about the Steelers identity but it really isn’t that complicated. Run the football. The lack of a run game has really hurt quarterback Kenny Pickett and the entire passing attack.
Don't ignore the Rams rushing offense
It might be easy to disregard the Rams rushing offense with their top two running backs out but the offensive line is still in place and if Pittsburgh forgets about the rushing attack, the Rams will take advantage.
All eyes on WR Cooper Kupp
Make no mistake, with Cooper Kupp back for the Rams, their offense is much better. Rookie Puka Nacua did a great job in his place taking advantage of his opportunities but Kupp is the kind of talent who creates his own opportunities.
Play with heart
Slow starts and lack of effort have become the reputation of the Steelers and that must change if they want to be taken seriously in the AFC, going out and playing flat without effort and heart won’t cut it.
