If the NFL season started today, the Pittsburgh Steelers would be in the playoffs. The Steelers got a huge 24-17 road win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday and improved their record to 4-2 on the season.
They now head back home and prepare to take on the 5-2 Jacksonville Jaguars. This is going to be the game of the week and if the playoffs were this weekend, this would be the matchup. The Jaguars would be the No. 4 seed and the Steelers would be the No. 5 seed.
It is remarkable that the Steelers, despite a steady dose of inconsistent play, find themselves in the thick of the playoffs. On Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams, the Steelers played three bad quarters of football before the team rallied in their usual fashion and thanks to another fourth-quarter comeback by quarterback Kenny Pickett, was able to pull off the comeback win.
This week’s game will be a huge test for Pittsburgh as the Juguars are easily one of the best teams in the AFC. In the Steelers two losses this season, both have been blowouts to the Houston Texans and San Francisco 49ers. If the Steelers follow their pattern, things don’t bode well for them this weekend in this playoff preview.
