According to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport, the Pittsburgh Steelers are planning to interview Louis Riddick for their upcoming general manager vacancy.
Most people know Riddick as one of the smartest and most articulate NFL commentators on ESPN. But Riddick also played five seasons in the NFL and spent 13 seasons in various NFL front offices. Most prominently, Riddick was director of player personnel for the Philadelphia Eagles from 2010-2013.
Current Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert plans to step down after the 2022 NFL draft. Pittsburgh has two candidates on the payroll already with Omar Khan and Brandon Hunt. But it is good to see Pittsburgh still willing to reach out to outside candidates and cover all their bases.
The #Steelers are scheduled to interview ESPN commentator Louis Riddick for their vacant GM job, sources say. He last worked in the NFL as the #Eagles Director of Pro Personnel in 2013.
