It seems the Pittsburgh Steelers have decided it is going to take a village to replace outgoing general manager Kevin Colbert. The team has made no official announcements but it seems the team is making three moves to replace Colbert with shared responsibilities.
It has already been reported that the current Steelers Vice president of football and business administration Omar Khan will be the new general manager. It has also been reported that Philadelphia Eagles exec Andy Weidl is going to be the assistant general manager.
Now, NFL reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala is saying former Lions executive Sheldon White will also be joining the Steelers in a similar capacity as Weidl to help with personnel and Khan will retain his salary cap and contract responsibilities.
To be honest, the whole situation sounds rather convoluted and I hope spreading the responsibilities around so thin like this works. Let us know int he comments if you are happy with how the Steelers are replacing Colbert in the front office.
More #Steelers front office moves: former #Lions VP of Player Personnel Sheldon White will join Andy Weidl to run personnel as Kevin Colbert retires. White’s son, Cody, has been w/ the Steelers for two years. (Omar Khan will continue managing the cap/money.)
