NFL Network reporter Cameron Wolfe is reporting that free-agent linebacker Elandon Roberts is signing a two-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Roberts has been in the league since 2016 and spent the last three seasons with the Miami Dolphins. Roberts finished 2022 with 107 total tackles.
The news of Roberts signing calls into question whether or not Cole Holcomb passed his physical. The addition of Holcomb was contingent on Holcomb passing a physical after suffering a foot injury last season that sent him to IR.
Or this could just be a case of the Steelers going full scorched earth on the inside linebacker depth chart. Robert Spillane has already signed elsewhere and Devin Bush is right behind him. If the team chooses to release Myles Jack to save cap space, there would be a need for two more inside linebackers.
