With the first two draft picks on the offensive side of the ball, the Pittsburgh Steelers move to defense in the third round with Texas A&M defensive lineman DeMarvin Leal with the No. 84 overall pick.
Leal came into the 2021 season as one of the top prospects in the country based on his potential but things didn’t materialize for him in terms of development. Nevertheless, Leal has ideal size and length for defensive end in the Steelers hybrid 3-4 scheme and despite some shortcomings in athleticism should be a solid developmental player.
