You often hear coaches use the phrase, “take what the defense gives you” but on Sunday, the Baltimore Ravens offense took what it wanted against the Pittsburgh Steelers defense.
Despite being down to the team’s third-string quarterback, an undrafted rookie and zero threat to throw the football, the Steelers defense couldn’t slow down the Ravens rushing attack.
After the game, even Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt admitted that everyone in the stadium knew Baltimore was going to run the football and the defense just didn’t do their job to stop them.
The Ravens finished with 215 rushing yards and averaged 5.1 yards per rush. More impressive was Baltimore running back J.K. Dobbins. He had 120 of those yards on just 15 carries for an 8.0 yards per rush average.
Meanwhile on the other side of the ball, the Steelers struggled to run the football against a run defense that has struggled. Najee Harris led the Steelers with 33 rushing yards in his worst game since the bye week.
