Steelers LB T.J. Watt laments playoff drought: ‘It’s been too long’

The last time the Pittsburgh Steelers won a playoff game was in the division round of the playoffs in 2016. In 2017, the Steelers drafted outside linebacker T.J. Watt in the first round of the NFL draft. Since then, the Steelers have made the playoffs three times but no wins.

Those losses have been on the mind of Watt and when he talked about it at training camp, you could see he’s ready to get that first playoff win.

“We know the end goal is to win a Super Bowl,” Watt said. “In order to do that, you have to win a playoff game.”

Watt isn’t overly concerned with individual accolades at this point. He’s won a Defensive Player of the Year and he is tied for the most sacks in a single season and when the dust settles he is likely going to finish the season as the career franchise sack leader. After missing seven games last season, Watt’s focus is on improving, making up for lost time and getting this team over the hump.
