Once the 2024 NFL season wraps up, the Pittsburgh Steelers will immediately turn their attention to 2025 regardless of how well the team does. Two major needs the Steelers could address are cornerback and wide receiver early in the 2025 NFL draft.
In this new mock draft by The 33rd Team, they do both. Sort of. They have the Steelers picking No. 13 overall and selecting Colorado’s Travis Hunter. Hunter is the best player on the Buffaloes on either side of the football as he starts at cornerback and wide receiver.
Hunter is in an awkward position heading into the 2024 season. He has pro potential at both positions but is going to need to dedicate himself to one position or the other to optimize his draft stock and give teams a better look at him pre-draft.
Personally, I view Hunter as a cornerback in the NFL and I’d assume his draft stock is higher there. But Colorado cannot afford to not have him at wide receiver. The Steelers would have the flexibility with him to see how Roman Wilson develops at receiver and whether or not the team gives Donte Jackson a new contract.
