Steelers fans projected to outnumber Rams fans at SoFi Stadium on Sunday

The Los Angeles Rams haven’t exactly had a home-field advantage at SoFi Stadium this season, with the exception of last week’s game against the Arizona Cardinals. 49ers and Eagles fans both flooded the Inglewood venue, outnumbering Rams supporters in the stands despite it being a home game for Sean McVay’s squad.

It’s likely to be a similar story this weekend when the Rams host the Pittsburgh Steelers – a team with one of the largest fanbases in the league. According to Vivid Seats’ Fan Forecast projection, the crowd is expected to be 54% Steelers fans.

That’s not great news for the Rams, who have had to use the silent count in two of their three home games so far this season. Matthew Stafford said recently that it doesn’t bother him, but he would much rather get the offense started by using his own cadence at the line.

Fortunately, the Rams should be used to this by now so it shouldn’t be anything new for Stafford and the offense. They just have to hope Rams fans can get loud enough on third down to throw off Pittsburgh’s offense and cause some pre-snap penalties.

This is the last game of a three-week homestand for the Rams, as they’ll be on the road in Dallas next week and then in Green Bay the following week. They’ll then hit their bye and return home again in Week 11 when they face the Seahawks.
