Steelers’ Damontae Kazee Ejected After Scary Hit on Colts’ Michael Pittman Jr.

Steelers safety Damontae Kazee was ejected from the second quarter of Saturday night’s game against the Colts for a brutal hit he laid on Indianapolis wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr.

Pittman ran a deep crossing route over the middle of the field with 8:49 to go before halftime, and quarterback Gardner Minshew threw a pass just outside the receiver’s outstretched arms.

Kazee came downhill quickly and dove into Pittman as the receiver attempted to catch the ball. What resulted was a brutal collision, which left Pittman on the ground in need of medical attention.

Pittman was able to leave the field under his own power but was later ruled out for the game with a concussion.

Both the Colts and Steelers are 7–6 on the season, needing a victory on Saturday to keep their postseason hopes alive. The Steelers will now proceed without their starting safety, while the Colts will be without their star wide receiver for the rest of the contest.
