You may want to stay out of the water this summer, as yet another shark horror movie is on the way, and this one looks simply terrifying.
Netflix has shared the first trailer for the upcoming shark horror movie Thrash, which you can watch below. The clip gives us a look at Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor, A Quiet Place Part II's Djimon Hounsou, and Hocus Pocus 2 star Whitney Peak face a devastating hurricane that rips through their town. That is the last of their worries, though, as among the wreckage waits the ocean's most fearsome predator.
The streamer also posted some first look images on Twitter by the streamer, showing Dynevor, Hounsou, and Peak sheltering from the destruction.

Directed by Dead Snow's Tommy Wirkola, Thrash follows a group of people who have to fight for their survival after a Category 5 hurricane decimates their coastal town and brings in hungry sharks with it. If that description sounds a little familiar, that is because it practically follows the same premise as the 2019 horror thriller Crawl, but swaps the giant crocodile for a scary shark. It also bears resemblance to the 2012 shark movie Bait, which sees a flood invite sharks into an Australian supermarket.
Thrash has had quite the journey to the streamer. The film was first titled Beneath the Storm and was set for a theatrical release by Sony. Then, the title was changed to Shiver until it was pulled from Sony’s theatrical release schedule altogether. However, luckily, Netflix then picked it up and called it Thrash.
However, Thrash has some competition this year, as Deep Blue Sea director Renny Harlin's upcoming shark movie Deep Water will hit screens in May, plus, Netflix has a sequel to its hit 2024 fin-tastic movie Under Paris in the works, too. There is also an orca-led horror flick coming soon titled Killer Whale, which will see the ocean's other mighty fish get a taste for human flesh.
