State vows duty shield against controversial trust tax

A state government has moved to shield businesses from any significant consequences of Jim Chalmers' proposed trust taxes.

The treasurer introduced 30 per cent minimum trust tax legislation to federal parliament on Wednesday, facing pushback from the coalition, business and a looming Senate review.
