State government hits the gas with plan for more peaking plants

More gas peaking plants could be built in the Hunter as part of a state government plan to invest in new firming infrastructure to support the rollout of clean energy technologies.

The government said this week it would tender for the delivery of 1500 megawatts of firming infrastructure in NSW, expected to consist primarily of gas-fired peaking plants.
