A nursing puppy aged just four weeks has been found abandoned and alone in an industrial estate in Co Derry.
The pup was spotted by office workers who ensured she was taken to a nearby vet for assessment, and given she was severely dehydrated and hungry, it is believed she had been separated from her mother for some time.
Now the search is on to find her for mother and any other littermates while she is cared for by the North west Animal Welfare Group. Mel McKee from the group says the little dog, who would have only opened her eyes two weeks ago, has been named Ruby. She will need to be hand reared with four-hourly feeds night and day after her discovery in the industrial estate in Limavady.
