As the seemingly eternal wait for Stardew Valley's big 1.7 update and upcoming sim Haunted Chocolatier continues, one player finds a particularly amusing way to pass the time – snoozin' away for, uh… over 1,000 years?
Reddit user "Holozard" shares their unique achievement in a post, explaining that they "slept for 1,000 years straight" in-game recently – and yes, they've attached some screenshots of the aftermath, too.
The first shows that their farm is so aptly named "Sleepwell Farm," and their character is similarly dubbed "Sleepy." As for their funds, they've only got 500 gold, because, you know, they seemingly slept from Spring, Year 1 to Spring, Year 1,000.
The second screencap from Holozard shows a downright overtaken Sleepwell Farm, with massive mushrooms, trees, meteorites, and weeds… so, so many weeds. The third highlights what the farm looks like in the wintertime, with stumps galore and a foraging lover's dream in the top left area surrounding grandpa's farm.
How are the chickens doing, you may ask? Well, understandably, they're "grumpy," as per another screenshot from the player.

How did Holozard manage this, though? "Ran my switch for over three weeks straight (aside from the nine times it crashed), just running right into bed and hitting rest," they explain in a comment.
"I used a controller with a turbo button to hit 'A' repeatedly, and a hair tie to walk right automatically. That also gave my controller horrible stick drift lol." According to them, they had the console powered "for over 25 days" – wow.
No wonder, as they put it, the load times "were so bad." Regarding their thoughts on the outcome of the 1,000-year-long sleep, Holozard says they "now have lots of cool purple rocks all over my farm, and made almost half a million in mushrooms, so I'm happy" – and honestly, what a brilliant way to kickstart your sleepy little farm.
I'm sure they could aim for another 1,000, however, and another, and we still wouldn't have Haunted Chocolatier.
Oh well, who needs a new game when we can experiment with Stardew Valley by *checks notes* sleeping for a millennium, anyway? Holozard's Switch might be begging for help, but hey, it's always fun to know that it can be done.
