Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace is commemorating its 25th anniversary this year with exciting developments for Star Wars fans. To mark this milestone, a special lightsaber, even more impressive than Darth Maul's iconic weapon, will be introduced. The celebration will include a limited return of The Phantom Menace to theaters on May 4, 2024, coinciding with Star Wars Day. Additionally, the anniversary will be intertwined with the upcoming TV series, Star Wars: The Acolyte.

The theatrical re-release of The Phantom Menace will offer a sneak peek at The Acolyte, providing fans with a glimpse into the new show. A highlight of the anniversary celebration is the introduction of a unique lightsaber wielded by High Republic Jedi Vernestra Rwoh. This lightsaber, described as a whip by Collider, adds a fresh and innovative element to the Star Wars universe.
