Star Geelong midfielder Amy McDonald was cut down by a hamstring injury as Hawthorn came from behind to post an 18-point AFLW win at GMHBA Stadium.

McDonald was a key figure early in Thursday night's match as the Cats raced out to a 30-15 lead by the 11-minute mark of the second term.
