The 'bonkers' moment a driver casually went the wrong way through Kilmarnock's busiest junction has been caught on camera.
Thousands of motors trudge round the town's one-way system every day without incident.
But last night, drivers were left stunned after a car emerged from under the railway arches and proceeded up the hill at the top of John Finnie Street past the train station and on to Langlands Brae - going against the one way system.
Eagle-eyed Stephen Wiseman captured the staggering moment from the top of the train station at around 10pm, saying the driver was as "casual as you like".
He said: "I couldn’t believe my eyes. I’ve seen some weird things with my eyes in Kilmarnock but that’s up there with most bonkers I’ve seen.
"Miraculously I left the train station and then the woman was sitting at the train station entrance as if everything’s hunky dorey."
Thankfully the incident didn't appear to cause any collisions but in the footage, it appears traffic was forced to stop to allow the motorist to drive the wrong way.
Police Scotland say no report has been made in connection with the incident.
